How things started for me...
Events all started for me in 2019, from when I went to my local college, and chose to do a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business, with an event management stream. From there, I hosted my first ever event - a quiz night in a community hall. I did this with 3 of my course mates - we were all only 16 at the time - so were a bit naive!
However, it was a successful evening - with over 100 people attending and raising over £500 for charity. We even got on the local radio and in the paper for it! Read more about it by clicking the photo below....

Since I started studying:
I have LOVED every moment at Manchester Metropolitan!
Despite deferring my place from September 2021 to September 2022 thanks to Covid-19, I was a little worried I was too old for University. I was very wrong - at least 50% of the class did the same as me and had a gap year too!
I love studying Event Management at Manchester Metropolitan University - my favourite units so far include Event Live and Law for Event Professionals: Event Safety.

Work Experience
Paid Work and Volunteering
It would be to fair say that I have had a fair bit of work experience since being in the events industry. From volunteering with a media company, through to working with SJM Concerts at over 20 different events - I have tried to gain as much knowledge as I can! Read below to see just some of the work that I have taken up....
What's my favourite?
Although I love getting involved as many events as possible - you can probably see my main interest from above - live music events! From working on ticketing at them to assisting VIP packages on them - it's something that I really enjoy and love being involved within any aspect of them.
So...what's next?
I have chose to take a year out of my university studies from September and complete a placement year (a year in Industry). I have decided to join Radisson Blu at Manchester Airport as their Meeting and Events Co-Ordinator! The role varies from booking in a number of meetings for large businesses to organising a conference for a small, start up business.
And? After that?
If I was to graduate today, I would probably enter the world of freelancing! The bottom 4 roles listed below are all thanks to my event networking, and businesses or recruitment agencies getting in touch with me asking my availability so I can help the event run!
